Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how media and creative work is developed, produced, distributed, and valued. The AI in Media Institute exists to support this shift in ways that strengthen, rather than undermine, the UK’s media and creative industries.

We work across journalism, broadcasting, film, television, advertising, publishing, digital media, music, games, design, and cultural institutions, sectors that together form a critical part of the UK economy and public life.

Our role is to help establish responsible, practical approaches to AI that protect creative rights, support the workforce, and maintain public trust. We do this through research, standards development, convening, and skills-focused activity grounded in real industry practice.

We believe responsible AI in media requires shared norms, evidence, and collaboration across the ecosystem.

We invite professionals, organisations, researchers, and institutions across the UK’s media and creative sectors to engage with our work.

Whether through signing the Responsible AI Charter, contributing to research, attending events, or joining as a member, there are multiple ways to participate in shaping responsible AI practice in media.

Together, we can ensure AI strengthens creative work, media integrity, and public value.
